Grand Coulee Dam Tours

 

Highlights of the Third Powerplant guided tour include a look at two of the largest turbines in the world and a van ride across the top of the dam. Parents are required to bring their child’s car or booster seat for use in the shuttle van.

Tours last about an hour and are available free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis. Space is limited, so be at the tour stop at least 15 minutes before the start of the tour.

Tour times:

  • September 1 to September 30 at 8:30 p.m.
  • May 1- May 28: 10 a.m., 12 noon, 2 p.m., 4 p.m.
  • May 29 – September 18: 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 12 noon, 1 p.m., 2 p.m., 3 p.m.,  4 p.m., 5 p.m.
  • September 18 – Nov 13: 10 a.m., 12 noon, 2 p.m., 4 p.m.

    Please note that packages, boxes, backpacks, purses, and bags may not be taken on the tour due to current security measures. Cameras are allowed.

     Laser Show

     

    The laser light show is held nightly at Grand Coulee Dam starting the Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend through September 30. The show lasts about 36 minutes and is free of charge. Show times are:

     

  • Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend to July 31 at 10:00 p.m.
  • August 1 to August 31 at 9:30 p.m.
  • September 1 to September 30 at 8:30 p.m.

    The best location to watch the laser show is from the visitor center at the dam and from the park below the visitor center. An outdoor sound system is provided.
